Yes, I'm feeling chatty today.

Just got a cartilage piercing. I'm proud to say that I handled it just as well as the stoic eight-year-old who got her ears pierced before me. I'm so badass.

Also proud not to have gotten on the wrong bus when headed to/from the mall. I'm not used to public transportation, so it was a definite possibility.

Anyway, I've started reading the His Dark Materials trilogy again, prepping myself for the movie. After that, I'm going to read the Faerie Wars Chronicles again, because the fourth book comes out December 26! I'm so excited, it's kind of sad. But those books are one of my three favorite series.

But now I have to work on the speech I have to give Monday. I have to admit my surge of bravado is fading thinking about it - I'm terrible at getting up in front of people and speaking intelligently. I hope a lot of people skip that particular class, since the smaller the audience, the better. I'm kind of bitter that I was one of the unlucky few that has to give their speech Monday, as opposed to those lucky jerks who get to wait until Wednesday or even Friday. Hate them. Haaaate.

Oh, I forgot to mention: I'm a sellout.

What with all the "I resucsitated the story everyone thought was dead!" euphoria, I forgot to mention that I caved and got a Facebook account. Just...you know...so I can make sure my friends don't do anything stupid. I don't know what I'd do about it if they did, but at least I'd be informed.

...NO, I am not going to become an addict! God! Actually, I don't even see what the big deal is: you put a bunch of random information out there so random people can read it and think they know you. Whee.

New topic.

I finished Eclipse a few days ago and am now able to talk about it rationally, so:

LONG spoilers )

I wonder if there's any decent Twilight Series fanfiction out there? I've checked the section before and didn't find anything that really grabbed me, but I didn't get a chance to look too closely, either. I must explore this possibility.

Summer Reading

I was bored, so I messed around with the format a little.  I think I need a job - I'm going crazy without something constructive to do.  I wonder if Barnes & Noble would hire me for two months.  Doubt it.

Less than 100 pages left to read in The Witching Hour.  I'm enjoying it and everything, but that book is 1,038 pages long and I swear it grows as I try to finish it.

...Actually, I wish Bartimaeus was like that.

Anyway, I'm seriously starved for reading material.  I'm reading The Dream Merchant next, but after that...not sure.  I don't want to wait until Deathly Hallows comes out to get seriously excited about a book.  But every time I go into a bookstore all I seem to see are books about teenagers falling In Luv on the beach.  Yeah, that's riveting.

Argh - and I have to wait even longer for Eclipse (sequel to Twilight and New Moon, by Stephenie Meyers - not that I'm advertising or anything. *cough*)  Oh sweet god of literature, have mercy on this poor soul.

I don't know.  Maybe I'll try something by Tamora Pierce.  I just have to figure out which books belong to which series - there are so many and they all look kind of similar.
